Descrizione e Settori di Applicazione: | Craniofacial reconstruction presents specific challenges that recent advancements in regenerative medicine and material engineering should be able to address and solve. Although bone has as the intrinsic ability to regenerate itself after damage, the effective repair of large bone defects still requires the implantation of bone grafts. To overcome these problems a new and promising strategy is provided by scaffolds, 3D porous solid biomaterials which act as temporary matrix for living cells.
